Africa Week 2019: From Tunis to Capetown

Monday, October 28: Dr. Menna Demessie, Vice President of Policy Analysis and Research for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, will be leading an interactive panel discussion! She will be discussing the need for the U.S. government to recognize the importance of partnerships with Africans and Africans in the U.S. to form governmental policy, as well as gender equality on the continent. This is all in order to highlight the diversity of the continent and how its people’s influence extends beyond Africa. 5:30 PM in Duc 276!

Tuesday, October 29: Taste of Africa from 11:00 – 2:30 PM in McMillan Cafe! Join us for a flavor tour and try out unique African dishes from all over the continent! Tickets will be on sale soon!

Wednesday, October 30: African Marketplace! What you’ve been waiting for all year! Come get your shea butter, African black soap, headscarves, jewelry, and more! 11 AM-2:30 PM in DUC 276!

Thursday, October 31: African Graduate Student-Faculty Networking Event! Put on your best business casual attire and join us for a networking event with the graduate chapters of the African Students Association! You will have the opportunity to talk to African grad students from the WUSTL School of Law, WUSTL School of Medicine, the Brown School for Social Work and Public Health, and Olin Business School.
